Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve and it's the first time since we've been back that nothing needs "doing". All the shopping, cooking, wrapping, washing etc appears to be under control.
I would like to thank you all for your kindness and support during the year. I look forward to sharing our creativity in 2011.
Lesson 1/2011 - Jan 9, 11, 12
Lesson 2/2011 - Jan 18, 19, 23, 25
Congratulations to Mum for winning the November Blog Comment prize. She selected Birthday Bakery as her free stamp set.
I will post photos of the new lessons early in January.
Until then have fun, be safe and Merry Christmas.

New Zealand Photos

As you all know Phillip and I had a great time when we went to New Zealand. We arrived in Christchurch, picked up a car and drove south via Dunedin, Te Anau, Queenstown and then north to Greymouth.
We caught the Trans Alpine Expess and finished the circuit back in Christchurch. We had great weather except when we travelled to Milford Sound but that was in a bus.
We took stacks of pictures so I thought I'd show you a few.

Thanks for your cheery emails, thanks to Nathanael and Vanessa for cat and house minding and thanks to Mum, Erin and the girls for taking us to the airport and picking us up.

Lady Pearl is all stamped out!!!

"I'm so tired, I just don't think I can lift another stamp".

An easy one

This is the third time we've used the Easel Card design this year. I've seen quite a few using the calendar. The Tart and Tangy Stamp Set is great for this one and it's on special in December ($15.37 /part of the December Frenzy Sale).

Calendars for 2011

I received the calendars on Friday. Phew, just in time for this week's lesson.
I've made the Calendar Box (pattern designed by Connie Babbert) with the Longfellows Stamp Set.

Oh no, more Journals

I couldn't resist sharing these. Thanks again for the amazing response to the Journal Lessons. Everyone agreed that it made such a personal Christmas gift.

Everyone who leaves a comment during November will go into the draw to win a free stamp set. It will be drawn on December 19 at the Christmas Party.

Last Lessons for 2010

As most of you know I'm off to New Zealand on December 5 and returning on December 14.
The last lesson for 2010 will be number 24 (November 29, 30, December 1). This lesson will be all about birds and perhaps another animal or two. The little Bird Milk Carton, Owl Box with matching cards and envelopes, Spinner Card and a surprise.

Our Christmas Party will be held on December 19 at 10.00. You are all most welcome. Just bring a plate and a smile. A couple of ladies have asked to do lesson 24 on this day. That's fine as long as I've had prior notice.

As previously mentioned the new Summer Mini will be available on 1 December. I will take orders for the Mini and also the December Frenzy specials. Please contact me if you are interested.

More Awash with Flowers Samples

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who purchased the fab set "Awash with Flowers". I had a little search and put my own spin on these beauties. Initial inspiration came from: Anne Marie Hile, Kathleen Hopperstad and stampcandy.

Can you see a new border punch? What about the sentiments on the on the pink and black cards?
These are in the Summer Mini (1 December - 31 March).
I have your copy ready for you. Call and collect on 1 December.

More Birthdays

Judy Hawkins and Wendy Green celebrated their birthdays recently. I used the milk caton die with the bird punch to make treat boxes and filled them with matching ribbon. I had to make 3 more. You just can't have enough treats.

Birthday Owl

I was just having a play with my new owl punch and voila it turned into my sister-in-law's birthday present.
It's her birthday tomorrow, happy birthday Kay. Sorry but your present is going to be late as usual. I have also made 6 matching cards that fit into our favourite divided pizza box.

This Sunday we will be making our 6 Christmas cards in 2 hours.  (Stamp-a-Stack) All of the hard work has been done for you. Everything has been cut up and is just waiting for you. It is also Judy Hawkins' birthday. Come along and make the cards. Please bring a plate of food to share. Don't worry if this time does not suit. Just contact me to make another appointment.
Here is another sample from the Stack.

Tissue Boxes for next week's class

I know that most of you have seen these but I thought I'd remind you. We will be constructing the boxes but the decoration will be up to you. Why not opt for Designer Series Paper for your first set.
The cost will be $20 without the tissues (you supply your own) or $25 with the tissues.
Dates: 19, 20, 21, 24, 26, 27 October

For those who aren't into construction I have designed a set of cards using the hostess set Birthday Bakery. Same dates as above.
Just let me know which class and when you'd like to attend.

Clever Kids

I had a lovely morning yesterday with Cathy and her daughters Laura and Sarah. Cathy did a great job with her Dasher cards and the girls did the notebooks from Lesson 19. I decided to spoil them and let them christen my owl punch. We spent some time discussing colour and lay out and then the girls were let loose. I was so impressed with their design I thought you'd like it too.

A closer look at Dasher

I thought you'd like a closer look at a couple of the cards in lesson 20. I really like the colour combinations. What do you think?
Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake (Kraft), Soft Suede, Basic Grey,

Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

A day with the girls at Macadamia Castle

We were both very happy to see the girls, Ruby and Jemima, after their holiday in Cairns. We drove straight down to Judy's for morning tea and then off to the castle. We had a great day. The girls really liked the mice and rats (yuck) but I liked the possums. We ended a great day at Mumma's with prawn cutlets, chicken, chips and apple pie!!!
