Lesson 29 with Punch Bunch and So Happy for You

This Sunday (27 February) is the last lesson for the Boys and Babies cards. Please let me know if you'd like to do this lesson.

I have been having lots of fun with the free stamp sets you can earn during Sale-a-bration. Most of you have at least one of these sets and you have until the end of March to earn more.
I have decided to use these sets as the focus for the month.
In Lesson 29 we will be using Punch Bunch and So Happy For you. There are lots of cards to choose from and there is a great Gift Card Wallet as well.
The dates are: 1, 2, 8, 9, 13 March.
Here is a sneak peek.

Apparently there are a lot of babies being born at the moment. Marina Mist, Bashful Blue the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and Pearls make a simple but winning combination.
One of my favourite Stampin' Up stampers is Mary Fish from Stampin' Pretty. I find that I am very much influenced by her clean and simple style. Recently I watched her make rick rack with the scallop edge border punch. Have a look if you get a chance: http://www.stampinpretty.com/2011/02/simple-saturday-rick-rack-wow-video.html .
Thanks Mary, you'll be seeing a lot of rick rak on my cards, you are an inspiration.

Those Wine Tags

I know I've posted this before but now it's part of next week's lessons. The tag die is not available at the moment so I have decided to cut the blank tags and package them for you to buy and decorate.
They will be in packets of 10 in either Whisper White or Very Vanilla and cost $3.
Pendant Park stamp set was used on both the card and the Wine Tag.

Boys and Babies

On A Pedestal (Lesson 27) will be on this Sunday. Most of you have done the lesson twice making more than 4 cards each. Please email or ring if you'd like to join us.
Congratulations to Cathy Dunn. She has won the stamp pad for January for making comments on my blog. Cathy chose Bashful Blue after she saw the cute baby cards in offer for Lesson 28 (Feb 14, 15, 16, 22, 23, 27).
This lesson originally started as a cards for men but when everyone saw the cute bib cards Mum and I made for a friend I decided to widen the choices and include baby cards.
Here is a peek.
The original tutorial was written by Monica Weaver from www.addalittledazzle.com
I'll add more photos tomorrow.

An Unusual Colour Combination

I don't know if anyone noticed but my last challenge was over a year old. I'm just learning about challenges. This challenge:  http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/ JAI54 - A Colour Combination was great fun. I had another go at the Faux Pressed Flowers. It's grungy isn't it. Definitely won't be popular with everyone.

I used the Extreme Elements set, Finial Press embossing folder and clear embossing powder. I coloured the flower with a marker, added an Antique Brad and finished it off with some satin ribbon.

Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge 6

I enjoyed the Paper Pals Challenge so much that I thought I'd give the Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge 6
 a go.

I haven't given this page a title yet. Should I call it Island Girl? Ruby, what do you think?

Celebrity Colour Challenge for Paper Pals Artists

It's so hot today I thought I'd have a go at a challenge.
I had to use the colours: Rich Razzleberry, Riding Hood Red and Certainly Celery.
Which one do you like best?

I was having a play with the free Punch Bunch set in the first card.
In the second card I was experimenting with a technique that I found on splitcoaststampers: Faux Pressed Flowers. I'm not sure if it was a success. I think I'll have another go.
Keep cool!!!
