One more Birthday Snap

Dance Lessons with Vanessa, Mum, Ruby and Jemima.

Lesson 33 Back to Nature

This Sunday it's Lesson 33 Back to Nature (May 1, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12). I have 7 different cards and for those who love 3D projects I have the French Post It Notebook and Autumn Spice Milk Cartons and Crate. Here are some sneak peeks.

Yes, you have seen this one before. It was a challenge entry for Paper Pals.

I have seen quite a few of these on the net. Thanks to Flowerbug's Inkspot for your inspiration. For those wanting to make the baby sock cartons and crate this is the lesson for you.

Once again I have seen quite a few of these but this one was inspired by Dawn.
The stamp sets used for these projects are French Foliage (p 20 Autumn-Winter Mini) and Growing Green (p 78 IBC).
I hope to see you soon.

Happy Birthday Mum

As you all know Mum celebrated her 80th birthday on Tuesday. Phillip cooked a fabulous Spinach Slice, Erin, Hamish and the girls supplied a delicious creamy sponge cake and Nathanael and Vanessa supplied a "meat cheese" (tasted like a continental sausage and very yummy). After dinner the girls gave us some much needed dance lessons.

Don't you just love the way Phillip checked out recipes on the net.
Thanks everyone for the great night.

Mojo Monday 188 and JAI 65

It's happy birthday to my Mum today and it's a special one. She is actually turning 80 and in about one hour she'll be arriving for  party number 3. Phillip is chef tonight so I thought I'd add this card I completed this afternoon. It is a response to 2 challenges http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ and http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/search/label/Challenges

Paper Pals Sketch Challenge

I was working with Always Artichoke and Old Olive with the Pocket Silhouettes Stamp set so I thought I'd use them for this challenge. http://www.palspaperarts.com/
I'm not entirely happy with the outcome but I've spent too long on it and it's time to move on.

Upsy Daisy in Cajun Craze

This was a very simple layout from Stamping 411. http://stamping411.blogspot.com/
I have owned the Upsy Daisy set for quite a while and although I have used it I have not featured it in a lesson. It's quite chilly here this afternoon and the warmth of the Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait and Early Espresso are very comforting.I have also made a matching envelope with Peach Parfait DSP. (Thanks again Mary Fish).

Paper Pals Fashion Inspiration: Flowers

I had been meaning to make these little post it note covers for quite some time. I thought that they'd look good on a friend's desk. Thanks for that idea Wendy.
Have a look at the other challenge entries http://www.palspaperarts.com/

Which one do you like best?

Voilet Crumble Cupcake

Every time I use Concord Crush and More Mustard I think about Violet Crumble Bars. For those who know me well you might think it strange because I don't eat chocolate but for those who know me really well you would remember that I was addicted to it. When I saw the challenge http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/ I thought that this little birthday card would fit the bill.
As well as using the Concord Crush and More Mustard cardstock and ink I used the Scallop Die, Afterthoughts and Create a Cupcake stamp sets, Build a Cupcake Punch, In Colour DSP Pack and the Circle Scissors Plus. You might also notice the mustard coloured rhinestone. Did you know that they can be coloured with permanent markers?

Cakes, Bags and Boxes

Some ladies like bags, some like boxes but everyone likes cake.

I have used the new Create a Cupcake Stamp set and Build a Cupcake punch to make the cake part of the lesson, the Stampin' Up Sizzix Box #2 Die to make the boxes and a variety of stamps and wheels to decorate the bags (bagalopes).
The dates for Lesson 32 are April 17, 19, 20, 21, 27, 28.

Another Challenge

Most of you have seen the bagalopes on display for the next lesson. Well I decided to make another one as a response to the JAI 63 Inspiration Challenge.  http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/

I have used Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Poppy Parade. The Builder wheels are a great way to decorate the bags (Candle Crazy, So Many Stars, Birthday). Thanks again to Mary Fish for showing us how to make rik rak with the Scallop Border Punch. I finished it off with my favourite Poppy Parade Ribbon and a tag made with the Two Tag Die.

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #65

Here is my entry for the sketch challenge. http://inkspirations-challenges.blogspot.com/ I have used Confetti Cream, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive cardstock. The sentiment is from the Word Play set. I used the Finial Press embossing and the brayer for the strip. Old Olive ribbon was then added over the strip.

Paper Pals Challenge

As most of you know after tomorrow (Lesson 31 Techniques class) I'm having a week without lessons. Phillip has just started his very deserved holidays so we'll spend some time together.
If I have any spare time I'll try to do a few challenges.
The first one is http://www.palspaperarts.com/
We had to use Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzaz and Crumb Cake. This is a great combination. It made me think of ferns so I used my Growing Green stamp set. I also used my new Framed Tulips embossing folder. I hope you like it.

Punch Bunnies for Ruby and Jemima

As promised here are the photos of the Easter Bunny box, baskets and bag. I spent a happy hour or two on YouTube searching for ideas. My creations were inspired by Dawn, Chic 'n Scratch, stampwithamy and craftincarolinas. I have added my own touch which included using the Big Shot Milk Carton die, Fancy Favor die and Box #2 die. I made some patterns to help the girls (and Mum and I). I hope you like them.
